Partnerships Activations Manager

Birmingham City Football Club is on the rise. Birmingham City Football Club is entering an exciting period of growth and transformation, both on and off the pitch. As the Club continues to evolve commercially and strategically, we are seeking a driven and relationship-focused Partnerships Activations Manager to play a key role in delivering and developing our partnership portfolio.

Reporting to the Senior Partnerships Manager – Activations, this role will support the delivery of a best-in-class partnership division, ensuring our commercial partners receive outstanding service, creative activation and measurable value.

This is an opportunity to join a progressive Commercial team and contribute to the Club’s long-term ambition, including its transition to a new stadium and continued growth at the highest level of English football.

About the Role

The Partnerships Manager will be responsible for managing and activating key partner accounts, delivering contractual rights, developing strong relationships and identifying opportunities to maximise commercial value. Working closely with internal departments including Finance, Brand & Marketing, Media, and both Men’s and Women’s football teams, you will ensure that partnerships are integrated, innovative and aligned to the Club’s broader strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Partnership Strategy & Development

  • Support delivery of the Club’s long-term partnership strategy
  • Manage day-to-day rights delivery for key partner accounts, including contract management and activation planning
  • Maintain rights utilisation trackers and deliver end-of-season performance reports
  • Identify opportunities to enhance partnerships and unlock additional value
  • Support departmental budget management by tracking partner-related expenditure

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local, national and international partners
  • Ensure partner objectives are understood and delivered against
  • Proactively communicate performance updates and strategic recommendations
  • Identify and support award and PR opportunities that elevate partner visibility

Activation & Marketing Integration

  • Develop creative activation plans and integrated campaigns to maximise sponsorship value
  • Work closely with Brand, Marketing and Media teams to deliver impactful partner campaigns
  • Support matchday and event activations to ensure seamless delivery
  • Drive collaboration across departments to align commercial and football objectives

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sports Management or a related field
  • Master’s degree desirable but not essential

Experience

  • Experience in a commercial or partnerships role, ideally within sport or entertainment
  • Experience managing partner accounts in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of sponsorship activation and rights delivery

Skills & Capabilities

  • Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to identify opportunities and drive results
  • Commercially minded with strong organisational skills
  • Strong understanding of marketing integration and brand alignment
  • Passion for sport and understanding of fan culture
