Partnerships Specialist (Fixed Term Contract)

About the Role

At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer.

We are professionals with purpose, beating cancer every day. However, we must go further and faster. We are seeking someone talented, determined, and driven to work in this pivotal role as Partnerships Specialist.

In this position, you will play a key role in identifying, developing, and delivering long-term strategic partnerships that align external organisations with Cancer Research UK’s mission. Working closely with Partnerships & Philanthropy teams, you will help create and grow high-value corporate partnerships, ensuring meaningful impact beyond income generation. Your role will bridge Policy, Information & Communications (PIC) activities to translate them into compelling and inspiring partnership opportunities, enabling fundraisers and partners to connect with CRUK’s work in innovative ways.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a clear overview of Policy, Information & Communications (PIC) activity and identify opportunities for partnerships and major donors.
  • Act as a strategic consultant, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and build funding or strategic opportunities for existing and new partnerships.
  • Work with PIC directors, heads of PIC, and partnership teams to facilitate strategic partnership and funding opportunities.
  • Provide oversight and delivery management (where required) of key health partnerships.
  • Functionally manage the Health Partnerships Manager.
  • Build senior external relationships with partners and other charities, including stewardship of key stakeholders.
  • Use communication expertise to shape pitches, bringing PIC work to life for partners.
  • Ensure robust tracking, measurement, and impact reporting of core PIC partnerships, reporting back to the business as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
