GSO AGT Parts Engineering – Regional Parts Applications Engineer
A Snapshot of Your Day
The GSO AGT (Aero Derivative Gas Turbines) Services Parts Applications Engineer role is accountable for developing a regional parts sales strategy and driving parts sales to meet business targets in the regions they oversee. The candidate will support the regional Sales teams by identifying and developing parts opportunities and proposals.
This customer-facing role involves:
- Collaborating directly with regional service units and customers to design parts programs ensuring operation and maintenance of their equipment.
- Supporting customer meetings (requiring travel within the region).
- Reporting to the Global Head of Parts Engineering.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Provide in-region technical and sales support to Sales Managers.
- Pursue parts sales and develop sales strategies to secure orders.
- Define parts kits for operators.
- Assist in identifying new sales opportunities across the region.
- Lead on-site customer conferences, planning maintenance and major parts projects in collaboration with the regional sales team.
- Define spare parts priorities for both regional sales and AGT Services (e.g., Customer Order Administrators, Parts Definers, Buyers).
- Drive internal support from engineering, purchasing, supply chain, and Customer Order Administrators (COAs) to:
- Generate customer parts quotes and technical information.
- Execute part projects.
- Prepare project cost, pricing, and margin analyses, along with technical bid approval documentation.
- Provide committing quotations (covering pricing, lead-times, and commercial conditions).
- Serve a diverse range of equipment, including power turbines, gas turbines, combustion air filters, and lubrication systems. Technical expertise, maintenance experience, and strong commercial acumen are highly preferred.

What You Bring
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 7+ years of relevant industry experience, or a Master’s Degree (preferably an MBA) with 5+ years of experience in an engineering role. Alternative: 15+ years of experience in engineering, installation, commissioning, field support, customer service, or sales.
- Proven track record in managing projects.
- Experience in both customer-facing and region-facing roles.
- Willingness to travel for at least 25% of the role, including international assignments.
Core Competencies
- Ability to engage effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders at all organizational levels.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- BS in Engineering preferred (extensive experience as an acceptable alternative).
- MBA or technical sales experience considered advantageous.
- Prior management experience in a technical sales environment a distinct plus.
- Formal AGT (Aero Derivative Gas Turbines) knowledge or expertise is advantageous but not mandatory.
