Parts Controller – Trane Technologies (On-Site, 5 Days/Week)

The Role

What’s In It For You

The Parts Controller ensures efficient stock management, parts replenishment, purchases, and stores operations to support service teams. This role requires:

  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Efficiency in managing multiple tasks simultaneously

Responsibilities

1. Stock Level Control

  • Monitor and optimise stock levels to prevent shortages and overstocking.
  • Implement inventory management strategies for operational efficiency.

2. Monthly Stock Count

  • Conduct monthly stock counts to verify inventory accuracy.
  • Reconcile discrepancies and update records promptly.

3. Van Replenishment

  • Ensure service vans are fully stocked with necessary parts and consumables.
  • Track van inventories and coordinate timely restocking.

4. Booking Parts to Jobs

  • Accurately allocate parts to jobs using the service management system.
  • Maintain proper documentation and tracking of part usage.

5. Consumable Purchasing

  • Manage procurement of consumables and PPE for service operations.
  • Ensure timely availability of necessary supplies.

6. Goods Receiving Management

  • Oversee receiving processes and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Inspect deliveries for quality and quantity compliance.

7. Warranty Parts Management

  • Handle warranty returns and replacements, ensuring proper tracking.
  • Manage warrantee claims documentation.

8. Stores Housekeeping

  • Keep the parts store clean, organised, and efficient.
  • Drive best practices in inventory management and team consistency.

** Extension Support During Peak Times**

  • Provide additional service control support, including:
    • Call handling
    • Engineer planning
    • Customer liaison

Requirements

  • Proven experience in inventory management, parts control, or warehousing.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency in inventory management software (e.g. SAP, Trane systems).
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle high volumes.
  • Knowledge of goods receiving and warranty processes (advantageous).
  • Familiarity with service operations helpful.
