Parts Sales Advisor

Parts Sales Advisor (Full-Time, Permanent) – Preston


About the Role We are seeking a Parts Sales Advisor to join our team at our Preston branch on a full-time, permanent basis. This dynamic role ensures that no two days are the same—you’ll handle complex parts-related queries, support customers, and actively promote parts sales to drive business growth while maintaining operational efficiency.

In this role, you will:

  • Identify and fulfil customer needs across truck, van, and coach parts
  • Manage parts inventory to ensure smooth branching operations
  • Provide expert advice, support, and guidance
  • Promote products and services to maximise sales opportunities

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, explain, and resolve complex parts-related issues for technician and customer teams
  • Maintain and upsert comprehensive parts knowledge to advise customers effectively
  • Ensure the branch’s parts department maintains stock accuracy and availability
  • Drive sales through proactive customer service, identifying opportunities to concluded deals
  • Support with commercial and operational processes, ensuring all paperwork and systems are up to date
  • Collaborate with teams to troubleshoot and resolve stock and service delays
  • Contribute to an environment that promotes safety, quality, and service excellence

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in fast-paced parts environments, proving excellent customer service and support
  • Familiarity with selling products or solutions—preferably in the automotive or trucking sectors
  • Strong attention to detail, allowing for precise inventory and administrative tasks
  • Ability to analyse and solve problems under pressure
  • Methodical approach with excellent administrative skills
  • Effective communication, both verbal and written

Advantageous Experience & Attributes

  • Prior experience in the truck or automotive industry (helpful, though prior roles in a related sector will suffice)
  • A proactive mindset for self-improvement in parts knowledge and product promotion
  • Commitment to building strong and enduring customer relationships
