The Vacancy
Scot JCB are looking for a Warehouse Operative to join our busy Parts Team in Glasgow.
As a Warehouse Operative you will support the day-to-day running of the Parts Department, ensuring the efficient flow of goods in, accurate order picking, and timely dispatch of customer and internal orders. You will take ownership of key warehouse processes including goods receipt, dispatch operations, and warranty returns.
This is a critical operational role within the business that involves ensuring that parts are available, correctly stored, and delivered to customers and internal teams in a timely and accurate manner. You will work closely with the Parts, Service, and Sales teams to maintain high standards of service and efficiency.
Hours: Minimum 39-hour working week plus regular overtime. Hours will vary between 7:00am-5.30pm Monday to Friday and include every 2nd Saturday morning.

This Role Involves
Warehouse Operations
- Receiving, checking, and booking in goods accurately
- Putting away stock efficiently in designated locations
- Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe warehouse environment
- Supporting stock takes and cycle counting activities

Order Picking & Dispatch
- Picking parts accurately for customer orders and internal requirements
- Packing goods securely to ensure safe delivery
- Owning and managing the dispatch process from start to finish
- Ensuring all orders are dispatched correctly, on time, and with appropriate documentation
- Liaising with transport providers and coordinating collections
Warranty & Returns
- Organising warranty parts for return to suppliers
- Taking ownership of the warranty returns process, ensuring compliance with procedures and deadlines
- Processing returns accurately and maintaining clear records
Team Collaboration
- Working closely with Parts Advisors, Service, and Sales teams to support operational needs
- Assisting with urgent requests and prioritising workloads effectively
- Supporting departmental efficiency and customer satisfaction
General Duties
- Loading and unloading deliveries safely
- Supporting continuous improvement in warehouse processes
- Adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
- Undertaking all other reasonable warehouse duties as required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Previous warehouse experience (ideally within plant, agricultural, automotive or a similar parts-based environment)
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a busy environment
- High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in picking, packing, and stock control
- A proactive and responsible approach, with the ability to take ownership of key processes
- A good understanding of warehouse systems and processes
- Basic IT skills (e.g., stock systems, Microsoft applications)
- Driver’s licence (essential)
- Forklift licence (desirable but not essential)
- A flexible and positive attitude towards work
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A strong awareness of health and safety in a warehouse environment
