Overview: art-K, a leading private art education service, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join as Self-Employed Party Leaders for its arty birthday parties during weekends. With a vibrant network of 8000 weekly students, art-K is expanding its offerings to provide unique and creative birthday experiences. Parties will take place at art-K Studios as well as external venues, giving you the opportunity to lead events in diverse environments.

Role: As a Self-Employed Party Leader, you play a crucial role in ensuring the success of each 3-hour birthday party session. Your responsibilities include:

  • Communication and Coordination: Engage with parents to coordinate and plan each event, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all participants.
  • Studio Setup and Ambience: Take charge as Party Lead to set up the studio or external venue in advance, creating a visually appealing and energetic atmosphere.
  • Art Workshop Leadership: Lead engaging and inspiring art workshops for party-goers, catering to various age groups and skill levels. Foster a positive and encouraging environment, sparking creativity and experimentation among attendees.
  • Materials Preparation: Take charge of mixing paints and preparing materials, ensuring everything is ready for the participants to dive into their artistic projects.
  • Teaching and Encouragement: Instruct children on completing their art projects, offering guidance, and encouraging them to explore their creativity while having fun.
  • Clean-up and Standards: Maintain high cleanliness standards by tidying up the studio after each class, leaving a welcoming space for the next session.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a second-year student in an Art-related university course.
  • Strong proficiency in various art mediums, including watercolor, acrylics, and air-dried clay.
  • Proven experience working with children from Year 1 (aged 5–6) and upwards.
  • Positive, proactive, and customer-service-oriented attitude.

Qualifications:

  • Art A level and Foundation.
  • DBS check (cost covered by the self-employed person, facilitated by art-K).

Training Provided:

  • Comprehensive project-based training to enhance your skills.
  • Safeguarding and Health & Safety training to ensure a secure environment.
  • Guidelines on what to deliver for the event and what to expect from parents.

Salary: The remuneration for the Party Leader role is set at £22 per hour. Additional opportunities can be offered; Family Workshop leader, Events leader/assistant and cover holiday workshops, Different rates apply for these roles depending on the studio's location.
