Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Passive Fire Protection Contracts Manager role based in Welford, Northants. The Contracts Manager will oversee multiple passive fire protection projects from tender through completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing specifications and drawings, preparing quotations, planning resources and schedules, and coordinating site teams and subcontractors.

  • Liaising with clients, surveyors, and suppliers
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation
  • Ensuring all works comply with current fire safety regulations and company procedures
  • Monitoring quality
  • Carrying out site visits
  • Managing variations
  • Supporting continuous improvement of processes and performance

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience managing contracts or projects in passive fire protection, fire stopping, or related construction disciplines.
  • Strong knowledge of passive fire protection systems, fire doors, compartmentation, and relevant fire safety regulations and standards.
  • Proficient in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost control, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including client liaison, negotiation, and team coordination.
  • High attention to detail with strong documentation, reporting, and compliance monitoring capabilities.
  • Competence in using standard office software and project management tools for planning, reporting, and record-keeping.
  • Relevant vocational or academic qualification in construction, building services, fire safety, or a closely related field is desirable.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites as required; health and safety training or certifications are an advantage.
  • One Trace reporting experience
  • FIRAS/BM TRADA accredited works
  • CSCS accreditation
