As an accredited fire door and passive fire protection provider, the company offers end-to-end services, including fire stopping installation and maintenance, compartmentation surveys, fire door inspections, and general building maintenance. Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Preston Area for Passive Fire Protection Supervisors and Operatives. The role involves installing and maintaining passive fire stopping systems, supporting compartmentation surveys to ensure compliance with fire safety standards.

Supervisors will coordinate site activities, lead teams, allocate tasks, and ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and in line with project specifications and regulatory requirements.

Operatives will carry out hands-on installation, sealing service penetrations, remedial works, and general building maintenance related to fire protection, following detailed instructions and technical drawings.

Both supervisors and operatives will complete site documentation, support quality control, liaise with clients and contractors when required, and follow all health and safety procedures.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills and Team Leadership abilities, with experience coordinating site work and guiding operatives.
  • Candidates should possess knowledge of Law Enforcement or regulatory frameworks, with an understanding of compliance, safety regulations, and incident reporting.
  • Candidates should possess experience related to Physical Security and risk management, including awareness of building safety and protective measures.
  • Candidates should possess skills relevant to Retail Loss Prevention or similar environments where safeguarding assets, people, and premises is critical.
  • Relevant experience in passive fire protection, fire stopping, or fire door installation and maintenance is highly beneficial.
  • Familiarity with compartmentation surveys, building regulations, and fire safety standards (e.g., BS and EN standards) is desirable.
  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings and method statements, with strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to sites within the Greater Preston Area as required.
  • Must have CSCS card and NVQ level 2 in passive fire protection minimum.
  • Supervisors are required to have SSSTS and First aid but SMSTS would be more appealing.

  • This is a self-employed role.
  • Very competitive rates & price work available.
  • Looking for a gang ideally but will consider people on their own if the candidate is suitable for the job role.
  • We have 4 care home projects that need completing to a very high standard. Works include installation of FR hatches, fire curtains & batt and mastic.
