Passive Fire Site Manager
Passive Fire Project Coordinator – Role Description
Scope of the Role
To work closely with Project Managers and operational staff to support the coordination of passive fire projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of site setup and passive fire protection planning with a focus on project-specific details.
- Champion QSHE (Quality, Safety, Health & Environment) compliance, ensuring all objectives are adhered to in every activity.
- Engage with digital systems (Joblogic, Northgate) to provide accurate site-based information to the Head of QSHE for risk and compliance assessment.
- Familiarity required in conducting investigations and audits (internal/external).
- Ensures adherence to FIRAS/Bluesky fire review standards; working towards SMSTS and Level 2 IFE in passive fire protection.
Knowledge & Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
- Extensive expertise in:
- Passive fire stopping (technologies & installation)
- Fire doors & protective products
- Strengthened safety regulations & industry-specific practices
- Strong commercial management, contract administration, and technical services knowledge.
- Practical understanding of safe working methods in construction environments.
- Proven experience in high-quality maintenance contract management.
- EWC Employee Handbook, policies, and ISO systems familiarity.
- Up-to-date awareness of current legislation, industry standards, and compliance requirements (construction sector-specific, regulatory changes identified for further training).
- Health & Safety at Work Act & applicable construction legislation knowledge.
- Statutory compliance requirements for maintenance and project works.
- Current CSCS card (Passive Fire category)
- Current SMSTS certification
- First Aid certificate

Essential Criteria:
- Significant experience in passive fire regulations and proven IT proficiency.
- SMSTS certification held (or actively working towards its renewal).
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working on large-scale live projects.
- In-depth knowledge of fire stopping regulations.
- IFE Level 2 in Passive Fire (or willing to complete).

- Ability to build strong relationships with internal/external teams.

- Exceptional team-building & motivational abilities.
- Competent research, reporting & data analysis skills.
- Accuracy in record-keeping and digital proficiency (IMS systems, spreadsheets, client platforms).
- Excellent planning & organisational talents.
Travel & Flexibility:
- Willingness to travel to various sites.
- Understanding of possible out-of-hours work (pre-coordinated where possible).
Key Duties
- Oversee daily passive fire project operations, ensuring cost-effective and efficient delivery methods.
- Maintain complete documentation for Bluesky audits/inspections.
- Provide first-line technical support for passive fire operators.
- Engage with all current clients for collaboration and problem-solving.
- Conduct regular toolbox safety talks for the team.
- Ensure full compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS) and client-specific fire safety requirements.
- Maintain and express the organisation’s passive fire accreditation frameworks, in alignment with the Directors and Head of QSHE.
- Conduct internal audits & compliance reviews, delivering continuous improvements across fire safety procedures, documentation, and safety standards.
- Act as a QSHE compliance champion, ensuring Shelter/Health/Welfare adherence in all operations.

- Adjust engineering attendance/scheduling as needed, providing customer support flexibility.
