We are working exclusively with a small, independent SEMH provision in Tameside seeking a dynamic, nurturing Pastoral Lead to undertake a broad range of responsibilities within this specialist provision.
As permanent, full-time Pastoral Lead, you will be instrumental in providing support and strategy in relation to behaviour, safeguarding and wellbeing across this small, specialist provision of 38 KS3-4 children.
Job Specification
- Lead and mentor the pastoral team, providing vision strategy and development of key policies
- Be a visible, trusted presence across the school, liaising with students, families and staff to prioritise student wellbeing
- Plan and deliver targeted SEMH interventions for individuals or groups, developing 1:1 relationships and enforcing positive behaviour
- Act as DDSL, working alongside the DSL and as a main point of contact for safeguarding concerns
- Celebrate student success and personal development alongside families and staff, building positivity and improving life chances of young people!

Permanent, full-time (up to £40k salary)
Person Specification
- Successful school-based experience working with young people in SEMH/SEND contexts
- Qualifications in teaching/mentoring/safeguarding are desired, but not essential
- Understanding of risk assessment, safeguarding procedures and legislation, and student records
- Excellent communication, behaviour management and information-gathering skills
- Maintain positivity, implement existing reward systems and be a friendly, welcoming face around school.
