Pastoral Manager (Band D – £27,945 - £31,960 pro rata)
About the Role
Collaborative Education Trust is seeking a Pastoral Manager to join Langley School, a college and sixth form setting dedicated to empowering young people through inclusive and supportive educational environments.
Langley aims to change lives and transform opportunities for learners by placing them at the heart of every decision. The successful applicant will help foster a climate where every young person thrives academically, socially, and personally.
Role Summary:
- Support pupils to excel, create a nurturing atmosphere, and uphold high standards of behaviour and attendance.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues, pastoral staff, and students to achieve shared goals.
- Champion Langley’s ethos: “To be the best we can be”.
- Uphold safeguarding commitments vital to the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide ** mena d-care pastoral guidance** to ensure all pupils have equal access to support and opportunities.
- Work with other pastoral staff to develop and implement successful strategies for managing student welfare, attendance, aspirations, and behaviour.
- Lead by example, building positive relationships with students, staff, leaders, governors, and parents.
- Facilitate educational trips, motivating taught staff to foster student engagement with learning.
- Strive for ability to thrive within high-performing teams, and appreciate different ways of working.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of safeguarding practices.

Role Specifics
- Commencement: September 2026
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week) on term time (39 weeks) plus INSET days
- Salary: Band D (Band 3), £32,597 - £37,280 pro rata (Actual salary: £27,945 - £31,960)

Safeguarding Responsibilities
The role involves working with children, vulnerable individuals, or in positions of trust, hence:
- It is exempt from the Rehabilitation Act 1974 for offenders.
- DBS checks will be mandatory, including:
- Full clearance at the standard or enhanced level.
- The disclosure of unfiltered reprimands, warnings, and convictions.
- A check against the Barred Lists for Children and Adults is required.
