What You’ll Be Doing Every Day
- Providing dedicated, daily pastoral and mental wellbeing care to students who need an empathetic champion.
- Delivering structured 1:1 interventions, tutorial support, and facilitating student voice initiatives (like student councils) to give our young people agency.
- Leading on conflict resolution, restorative mediation, and student de-briefs.
- Partnering closely with families, carers, and social care agencies to build a protective ring of support around each learner.
- Monitoring and analysing pastoral data to spot trends, measure progress, and actively shape personalised student support plans.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a calm, reflective, and resilient practitioner who knows how to hold boundaries with deep empathy.
- Qualifications: Level 3 qualification (or above) in a relevant field (Youth Work, Social Care, Counselling, Education) along with Level 2 English/Maths.
- Proven Track Record: Extensive experience in a dedicated pastoral, youth work, or wellbeing role.
- SEND and Mental Health Expertise: Strong experience supporting young people with complex needs, Autism (ASC), or mental health vulnerabilities.
- De-escalation Masters: Natural ability to stay calm under pressure and use positive, non-punitive strategies to safely de-escalate challenging situations.
- Safeguarding First: A robust, unshakeable understanding of safeguarding protocols within education.
