The Position: Pastoral Support Worker (Term Time only)

We are seeking a caring and empathetic individual to support and motivate vulnerable students, particularly Children Looked After, Care Leavers, Young Carers, and under-18s living independently, who may have a range of behavioural, social, and emotional needs, including mental health challenges.

The successful candidate will advocate for and support students to ensure they are ready to learn, achieve, and progress, working closely with curriculum areas, college support services, and external agencies.

What Skills Are We Looking For

  • Awareness of strategies to support students with a range of needs including social, emotional and behavioural
  • Experience of receiving disclosures, understanding support requirements and making appropriate recommendations of support
  • Safeguarding Qualification, Level 2 equivalent or willingness to work towards

Responsibilities For The Role

  • Support and work with an allocated caseload of students to ensure that their pastoral and welfare needs are met
  • Develop an understanding of the specific needs of the students and to support the development of strategies to meet their needs
  • Work with internal stakeholders and external support services as required to ensure student pastoral and welfare needs are met

The Location

The site is based at Nuneaton but may require travelling to other sites on an ad hoc basis.
