Pastoral Teaching Assistant | Hillingdon | September Start
Are you a compassionate and understanding Graduate looking to gain practical school experience, supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of 11–16-year-olds?
If so, we’re seeking ambitious and dedicated Graduates to join our team as a Pastoral Teaching Assistant in an inclusive Secondary School based in Hillingdon, London.
Role Overview
- Contract: Full-time (one academic year, September 2026–July 2027)
- Salary: £83–£100 per day (plus accrued holiday pay) – PAYE paid weekly
- Location: Hillingdon, London (inclusive Secondary School)
- Focus: Supporting pupils in academic, social, and emotional development
What the Role Involves
- Supporting daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and behaviour management for students
- Working 1:1 or in small groups to help pupils regulate emotions and re-engage with learning
- Assisting in classrooms with behaviour expectations and smooth transitions between lessons
- Delivering targeted interventions and monitoring pastoral progress
- Maintaining a calm, safe, and supportive school environment throughout the day

The ideal Pastoral Teaching Assistant will be:
- Patient, empathatic, resilient, and committed to supporting young people
- Essential qualifications:
- 2:1 or First-Class degree (from a top 30 UK university)
- Proven experience in child-centred roles is highly beneficial
- Key attributes: Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a proactive mindset
