👨🏽🍳 Full Time Pastry Chef 👨🏽🍳
We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our commercial kitchen in Cambridge on a full time basis.
In this role, you will work within our Pastry team to create the exquisite pies, quiches, cakes, tarts and other products enjoyed by Hill Street customers across Tasmania. You’ll be part of a passionate and skilled team that also works closely with our smallgoods and butchery operations onsite.
What You’ll Bring
- Formal pastry qualifications or equivalent industry experience
- Proven experience in pastry production, ideally in high-volume commercial kitchens
- Strong technical pastry and baking skills, with a focus on quality and consistency
- Creativity and attention to detail in presentation
- A love of working with food and people, with good communication skills
- Energy, initiative, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Commitment to cleanliness, food safety and workplace health and safety standards
- Physical fitness and stamina to work on your feet, lift and move items (16–55kg), and work in a cool production environment
- Willingness to handle raw ingredients including meat, dairy and other fresh products
- Ongoing weekday availability

This role involves working in a cool manufacturing and production environment with raw food products, including meat. You’ll need physical stamina for manual handling tasks such as bending, lifting, and moving items (16–55kg), in line with Australian Work Safe standards.
Pay rates are set by the Food, Beverage and Tobacco Manufacturing Award. The level classification and pay rate of the successful candidate will be based on experience (base hourly rate = $28 - $30 per hour).
