Role Description

The Patent Attorney will be responsible for managing patent-related matters, including:
- Drafting and prosecuting patent applications
- Advising on patentability
- Overseeing patent preparation and filing strategies
Day-to-day tasks include:
- Conducting legal and technical research
- Performing IP due diligence
- Analyzing prior art
- Providing clear guidance to clients on protecting and enforcing their innovations
The role involves collaborating with internal teams and clients across multiple jurisdictions, preparing legal opinions, and supporting portfolio management and IP strategy development. This is a full-time remote role, requiring effective communication, time management, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high professional standards.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in patent preparation and drafting patent applications
- Solid knowledge of patent law and patentability assessment
- Experience in conducting due diligence related to intellectual property assets
- Qualified as a patent attorney or patent agent in at least one major jurisdiction (e.g., UK, US, or European) with relevant registration
- Background in AI and software, that supports understanding of client innovations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal and technical concepts clearly to non-specialists
- Proven ability to manage multiple matters concurrently, work remotely with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines consistently
- Candidates must have drive and motivation and excellent task management and self-discipline with attorney admin
- Experience in IP portfolio management, freedom-to-operate analysis, or IP strategy development is beneficial
