About the Role
The Pathway Service are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic practitioner to work with care experienced young people as a personal advisor. This role is crucial in supporting young people between the ages of 17 and 25 years old as they navigate their transition to independence and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Be a skilled and motivated practitioner who is committed to supporting care experienced young people in all circumstances.
- Have excellent communication skills, a high level of computer skills, good organisation, be responsive to challenging situations and flexible to the needs of the service.
- Value placing effective relationships at the centre of what you do and be able to communicate effectively with young people, social work colleagues, foster carers and families.
- Maintain accurate and up to date case records, review Pathway Plans within statutory timescales and attend relevant meetings.
- Visit young people in a variety of settings in York and locations out of area.
- Work closely within the team, provide duty cover and be responsible for a case load of young people.
- Support the team to maintain and develop positive practice and strengthen the service in all areas.

Requirements
- As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express themselves fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
Working Arrangements
- Hybrid working arrangements are available for this role. Each role at CYC is different and your working arrangements will be determined based on the requirements of the role and in collaboration with you and your needs as part of the recruitment process. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team.
