Patient Administration Officer (Milton Keynes)
Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey as a Patient Administration Officer at our state-of-the-art cancer care centre located in Milton Keynes? Join our dedicated team at GenesisCare UK and be part of something extraordinary.
As a Patient Administration Officer with us, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the patient referral pathway, ensuring appointments are booked efficiently and delivering exceptional customer service to patients and visitors attending the centre. What You'll Do
- Provide all patients with a courtesy call within 24 hours of receiving a referral
- Support consultants and medical secretaries throughout the patient referral pathway
- Ensure all referrals and appointments are processed accurately and efficiently
- Provide patients with all relevant information regarding their appointments and treatment journey
- Liaise with clinical teams, NHS Trusts and the internal finance team to ensure smooth patient pathways
- Book additional support services to enhance the patient experience, including wellbeing and exercise medicine services
- Manage appointment scheduling for patients, consultants and staff
- Maintain accurate patient information and referral data within MOSAIQ
- Complete reception duties and act as the first point of contact for all visitors to the centre
- Maintain patient confidentiality in line with company policies and statutory legislation
- Support the wider administration team while contributing to a professional, welcoming environment
- Act as a mentor and trainer for new starters where required

What You'll Have
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Previous experience working within a busy reception or administrative environment
- Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
- Experience working within a customer-focused role
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Evidence of an empathetic and patient-centred approach
- Experience resolving complaints professionally and effectively
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience using MOSAIQ would be advantageous
- Previous experience within the healthcare sector is desirable
- A collaborative and flexible approach to team working
