Role Description
The Patient Care Coordinator is a full-time, on-site role based in Birmingham, responsible for supporting patients throughout their fertility journey and ensuring a smooth, compassionate experience. This role involves managing appointment scheduling, coordinating patient visits and follow-up care, and acting as a primary point of contact for patient inquiries by phone, email, and in person. The Patient Care Coordinator will maintain accurate patient records, assist with the collection and organization of medical information, and ensure clear communication between patients, clinicians, and the wider multidisciplinary team. Daily tasks include verifying patient details, explaining clinic processes, providing information about services and procedures within scope, and helping patients navigate their care plans. The role also involves collaborating with clinical and administrative colleagues to optimize workflows, support quality and safety standards, and contribute to a welcoming, patient-centered environment.

- Experience in patient communication healthcare settings is essential
- Fertility experience is desirable
- Strong appointment scheduling and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple patient bookings efficiently.
- Professional phone etiquette and excellent interpersonal communication skills for managing patient calls and inquiries.
- Experience in care coordination and working within multidisciplinary healthcare teams to support continuous, integrated patient care.
- Solid understanding of medical terminology and the ability to learn fertility-specific terminology to support accurate documentation and communication.
- Demonstrated commitment to high-quality patient care, empathy, and confidentiality in a clinical or healthcare setting.
- Proficiency with electronic health records and standard office software; strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Previous experience in fertility, reproductive health, or women’s health services is advantageous but not essential.
- Relevant education or training in healthcare administration, nursing support, or a similar field is preferred.
