Patient Engagement Lead at HMP Doncaster

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Patient Engagement Lead to join our team at HMP Doncaster, a Category B prison located in the Marshes area of Doncaster.

HMP Doncaster is a local resettlement prison based in South Yorkshire, accommodating a male population of up to 1,145 individuals, including approximately 200 young offenders aged 18-20 years.

Hours

Full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, core business hours).

Salary

An annual salary range of £29,264 - £33,510, dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities

As the Patient Engagement Lead, your role will include:

  • Driving patient engagement activities and ensuring high patient satisfaction through:
    • Effective service user engagement and peer-led forums
    • Planning and delivering projects and programmes aligned with patient needs and priorities
    • Involving patients (where possible) in project delivery and training
  • Serving as a point of contact for patient engagement enquiries from:
    • Healthcare staff and external partners
    • Patients themselves
  • Overseeing and managing the health champion peer support model:
    • Conducting frequent training sessions on Health Champion delivery across the region
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory and organisational requirements and:
    • Conducting timely evaluations of engagement activities across all locations
    • Disseminating feedback and recommendations with patients, staff, and external partners as needed
