Patient Liaison Officer

About the Role

The Patient Liaison Officer role at The Duchy Hospital, Harrogate, is part of Circle Health Group, the UK’s leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals and clinics.

Job Title: Patient Liaison Officer

Location: Harrogate, at The Duchy Hospital

Contract Type & Hours:

  • Full-time, permanent
  • 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern

Salary:

  • Up to £28,000.00 per year (dependent on qualifications, training, and experience)

Responsibilities

Key duties include:

  • Convert enquiries to procedures: Process and convert appropriate self-pay enquiries and consultations into self-pay procedures within Circle Health Group, meeting pre-agreed targets.
  • Deliver quality customer service: Ensure a high-calibre service for potential self-pay patients, including accurate and timely responses to enquiries from:
    • Patients
    • Consultants
    • Medical secretaries
    • The National Enquiry Centre (NEC)
  • Facilitate access & information: Help patients access appropriate procedures and provide essential information to support their conversion to the self-pay pathway.
  • Influence patient decisions: Effectively guide patients toward Circle Health Group as their preferred provider for medical procedures.
  • Provide pre-consultation support: Deliver prompt and accurate pre-consultation information and indicative pricing to both the NEC and direct patients inquiries, optimizing appointment conversions.
  • Book appointments: Arrange suitable clinic appointments for self-pay patients.

Requirements

Eligible applicants should possess the following:

  • Strong customer service skills, including proficiency in telephone, written and face-to-face communication methods.
  • Ability to work within defined service performance standards.
  • Influencing/sales skills that drive conversion and patient confidence.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • A fluent knowledge of English for clear verbal and written communication.
  • Exceptional telephone manner and interpersonal skills.
