Part-time Patient Safety Investigation and Liaison Lead

We are looking for a part-time patient safety investigation and liaison lead to support learning from patient safety events and compassionate engagement.

These roles are instrumental in University Hospitals Dorset’s (UHD) implementation of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF). The role of investigator is to be an expert in Patient Safety Incident Investigations (PSII), recognising the complexities of healthcare and enabling teams and organisations to learn from when care hasn’t happened as expected. PSIIs are in-depth investigations requiring both excellent investigative skills as well as excellent communication skills with staff at all levels within the organisation and with those affected by incidents.

Base Location

Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospital. Cross site working will be required.

Interview Date

29/07/2026

Role Responsibilities

The post holder will investigate patient safety incidents under the PSIRF, acting as a role model and expert advisor for staff involved in the reviews and ensuring that all reviews are carried out to the highest possible standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
