Bank Patient Service Advisor | Customer & Patient Support (Bank Rocks) | Glasgow
Location: Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital Hours: Part-time – Monday–Thursday: 8am–9pm, Friday: 8am–6pm, with weekend availability Wage: £13.10 per hour Type: Bank (ad-hoc shifts, no fixed contract)

Join our team as a Patient Service Advisor at Nuffield Health Glasgow Hospital. This role offers strategic, hands-on support to patients, visitors, and hospital teams. You’ll need strong customer service skills, confidence in managed data delivery, a flair for building relationships, and excellent IT and keyboard proficiency.
About the Role
As a Patient Service Advisor, you will forge strong, dependable relationships with patients, consultants, and staff. You’ll be the first point of contact for hospital enquiries, providing accurate, professional guidance and managing key time-sensitive processes. Located in the heart of Glasgow’s West End, with access to state-of-the-art facilities such as the Mako robotic arm, this role offers rewarding patient interactions and meaningful contributions to healthcare excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Customer Enquiries & Support
- Handle all inbound enquiries over telephone, email, and face-to-face, delivering detailed, accurate, and empathic service.
- Guide patients and visitors regarding hospital services, treatments, and policies while promoting a welcoming, professional atmosphere.
- Provide insights into patient journey records and (Professional) accreditations, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

Clinic & Appointment Coordination
- Manage inbound patient bookings, including pre- and post-operative queries, ensuring full compliance with GDPR regulations.
- Maintain and monitor Hospital CRMs to log interactions, track pursue requirements, and document patient concerns.
- Transfer and input consultation lists onto the Patient Information Management System (PIMS) to aid accurate records, while spotting and avoiding duplicate entries.
- Check-in patients, organize clinics, and liaise with consultants, medical secretaries, and peer staff for treatment-led prioritization.

Welcome & Frontline Facilitation
- Operate the straight hospitality station for patients, allowing an easy and transparent entry experience.
- Maintaining communication channels, including email monitoring, and prompts for bookings when required.

Clients & Consultants Liaison
- Develop and maintain excel communication paths with physicians, ensuring that the patient care journey flows seamlessly.
- Collaborate closely with Nuffield Health Consultants, ensuring priority access to departmental updates and patient statuses.
Person Specification
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:
- A confirmed track record of excellent customer service in administrative, contact centres, or frontline healthcare environments.
- A natural customer and people-first mindset, demonstrated through previous roles that place empathy at the core.
- Strong organizational skills, proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently under limited timeframes.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication, especially in high-volume or high-stress situations.
- Basic proficiency in IT systems, including email, CRM, database, and scheduling/calendaring platforms.
Years of experience (including volunteering/placement) in surgery-focused Customer Care and healthcare business settings are desirable, but a high energy, tenacity, and ability to learn quickly are key.
