About Us
Cox London are artisanal makers of unique sculptural lighting, furniture, and artworks of the highest calibre. We are commissioned by celebrated interior decorators, collectors and discerning private individuals worldwide, and work with a deep respect for materials and traditional craftsmanship, resulting in sculptural works that are as functional as they are poetic.
The Role
We are seeking a Patination & Colour Finishing Technician to join our creative finishing team. This full‑time, workshop‑based role centres on the development and application of hand‑applied colour finishes, patinas and surface treatments for bespoke interior pieces. This is a creative, hands‑on role focused on developing and applying patinated and hand‑finished colour surfaces for high‑end furniture and lighting. Working within a collaborative London workshop studio, you will use visual judgement, material knowledge and specialist finishing techniques to create distinctive, design‑led surfaces.
Working closely with designers, makers and production colleagues, you will interpret visual references, samples and creative briefs to achieve nuanced, layered and expressive finishes. This role is ideal for a colour‑led finisher who enjoys combining technical skill with artistic judgement, and who takes pride in producing work of exceptional quality.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
