About The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Clerk to join a dynamic finance team on a temporary ongoing basis in Birmingham. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented purchase ledger professional with previous experience within the housebuilding sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing high volumes of supplier invoices, ensuring accurate data entry, and maintaining supplier accounts in accordance with company policies and procedures. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a well-established housebuilding organization, supporting their finance operations and contributing to smooth transactional processes. The role requires familiarity with the COINS accounting system, as well as strong organizational and communication skills to handle supplier queries effectively.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger role, preferably within the housebuilding or construction industry. Practical knowledge of the COINS accounting system is essential. Candidates should demonstrate high accuracy and attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a professional approach to their work. The ability to manage multiple priorities, work efficiently under pressure, and meet deadlines is crucial. A proactive attitude and commitment to ongoing temporary work are also important qualities for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Processing large volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes to ensure consistency and accuracy.
- Coding, batching, and entering invoices into the COINS system in accordance with company procedures.
- Handling supplier inquiries, resolving discrepancies, and maintaining positive supplier relationships.
- Reconciling supplier statements to ensure all records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Assisting with the preparation of payments, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Supporting the finance team with month-end and year-end tasks, including reporting and reconciliations.
- Maintaining accurate and organized supplier accounts and records within COINS.
