Payments Assistant | 10625 | Temporary Contract (6 Months), 14.8 hours per week
Location: County Hall
Salary: £25,989 to £26,403 per annum (pro-rata, Scale D)
Working Pattern: Part-time hybrid role (office and remote working)
About the Role
We are recruiting a Payment Assistant on a temporary, part-time basis (6 months) within the Payments Team, Finance & Exchequer Services. The role involves managing payments for over 20,000 suppliers, processing approximately 450,000 payments annually across multiple business systems.
Your primary responsibility will be to:
- Ensure payments are made accurately, timely, and as per contractual obligations
- Conduct research and communicate with suppliers to rectify payment discrepancies
- Resolve complex queries from both suppliers and internal departments
Ideally, you will have:
- Experience in a finance environment
- Confidence in handling customer/supplier queries professionally
- Familiarity with financial systems
