Job Title

Our client is seeking an experienced payments professional, for an initial five-month contract, to support strategic initiatives across merchant acceptance, acquiring, gateways, and PayFac ecosystems. This role requires strong knowledge of the UK & Ireland acceptance landscape, combining commercial, regulatory, and technology expertise to help shape merchant payment strategies and drive industry insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise across merchant acceptance, acquiring, gateway, and PayFac models.
  • Support strategy development for merchants across at least one merchant segment – SME, Mid-Corp, or Enterprise segments.
  • Assess acceptance journeys and identify opportunities to improve customer experience, conversion, and operational efficiency.
  • Advise on emerging industry trends, including PSD3, Network Tokenisation, Agentic Commerce, and B2B payments.
  • Support engagement with acquirers, gateways, PayFacs, ISVs, and payment partners.
  • Translate regulatory requirements, including PSD2, PSD3, and Consumer Duty, into practical business recommendations
  • Collaborate with product, technology, operations, compliance, finance, and commercial teams to deliver acceptance initiatives
  • Develop insights, recommendations, and stakeholder presentations

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
