Location: Hybrid (2 days per week in our Bowburn, Durham Office)
Working Hours: 37 Hours
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract (until 31st March 2027)
Salary: £25,877.80 - £34,240.03
Please note: The salary listed reflects the full earning potential for this role. Starting salaries depend on experience and progression within the band.

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Payments Officer to join our Finance Operations team.
What You’ll Be Doing
Payments & Finance Operations
- Process financial transactions and payments accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations
- Carry out reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly
- Manage supplier accounts, including maintaining records and performing aged analysis
- Process workforce expenses and support internal audit checks
- Handle credit card requests and queries in line with service level agreements
- Respond to queries via the payments service desk, ensuring timely and professional communication
- Support month-end processes and reporting requirements

Performance & Collaboration
- Meet individual KPIs and contribute to wider team performance targets
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across finance and the wider organisation

- Help improve financial systems and processes
- Build strong working relationships with internal teams and stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- Experience working in an Accounts Payable function
- Good understanding of accounting procedures
- Strong numeracy and excellent attention to detail
- Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build working relationships
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
