Role Overview 📝

Position: Driver Pay Manager (Senior, Analytical Role)

As the Driver Pay Manager, you’ll have full responsibility for the financial relationship between HIVED and our driver fleet.

  • Your mandate is to ensure accurate and fair pay—a critical aspect of earning and maintaining driver trust.
  • Own a clean payroll operation while leveraging analytical expertise to understand how route types impact earnings.
  • Support improvements in pay models through cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities 🚀

  • End-to-End Payroll Management:

    • Accurate and timely driver invoicing and payroll each week.
  • Pay Analysis & Reporting:

    • Generating regular reports highlighting discrepancies between expected and actual earnings.
    • Investigating discrepancies with actionable insights.
  • Pay Framework Documentation:

    • Keeping documentation for pay structures up-to-date, clear, and accessible to stakeholders.
  • Cost Recovery & Transparency:

    • Managing vehicle damage, fines, and equipment costs with fairness and clarity.
    • Partnering with drivers on payment plans where necessary.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Close partnership with Operations, Fleet, and Finance to ensure pay decisions align with operational realities.
    • Feeding data-driven insights into commercial pay structure reviews.

  • Experienced in payroll, contractor pay, or invoicing.

    • Preference for experience in logistics, transport, or high-touch industries.
  • Analytical Powerhouse:

    • Ability to:
      • Build reports.
      • Extract insights from data.
      • Translate findings into clear recommendations.
  • Clear, Confident Communicator:

    • Handle costs, disputes, or sensitive recovery conversations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Cross-Functional Cocktail Party:

    • Drive alignment across teams without direct authority.
    • Influence decisions strategically.
