The Payroll Administrator is a full-time role based in Beaconsfield with a hybrid working arrangement, combining office presence with some work from home. This role is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payrolls for a portfolio of clients, including calculating wages, statutory deductions, pensions, and other adjustments in line with UK legislation.

Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Maintaining payroll records
  • Handling starters and leavers
  • Managing PAYE, NI and statutory payments
  • Preparing reports for clients and internal stakeholders
  • Responding to payroll queries
  • Liaising with HMRC and pension providers
  • Supporting compliance with current regulations and internal controls

The Payroll Administrator will collaborate closely with colleagues across the firm to deliver a high-quality, professional service and continually improve payroll processes.

Qualifications

  • Strong payroll processing skills, including experience with UK PAYE, NI, pensions, statutory payments, and end-of-year procedures.
  • Proficiency with payroll and accounting software, ideally including systems such as Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
  • Solid numerical, analytical, and data entry skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good understanding of UK employment and payroll legislation, with the ability to keep up to date with regulatory changes.
  • Effective communication and client service skills, with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly and handle queries professionally.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently in a hybrid setting.
  • Previous experience in a payroll role, ideally within an accountancy firm or multi-client environment.
  • Relevant payroll qualifications (e.g., CIPP or similar) or a willingness to work towards such credentials.
