Role Overview
As a Payroll Administrator you will guarantee that all employees in the designated Business Units are paid correctly and on time, and in accordance with both statutory legislation and company policy, whilst also ensuring that there are no material audit issues and the principles of customer service are maintained.
What You’ll Do
- Provide support to employees in relation to expense claims, payslip access, and salary payment queries.
- Data entry for things such as sickness, P45, payments and deductions, change of jobs and rates.
- Responding to employee and external bodies via a central email account.
- Process all payroll information received from employees, managers and external bodies within agreed cut-off dates, ensuring all transactions are authorised and adhere to company policy.
- Where applicable check and verify expenses submitted through PeopleSoft Expenses module.
- Ensure new policies, procedures and legislative changes are adhered to and help to minimise disruption to payroll operations.
- Ensure online cases are responded to in a timely manner or directed to a Payroll Specialist when required.
- Actively take ownership of your own continual professional development and improve your performance in the role, including completing mandatory learning and any apprenticeship-based training.
- Proactively support change and be willing to suggest improvements to shape a better Payroll Service.
- Learn and assist in areas of Payroll Operations as instructed by the Pay Services Manager.
- Support other ad-hoc duties and responsibilities as specified by the Pay Services Manager.

What You’ll Bring
- Previous experience of Payroll operations and legislation.
- Experience of working within an office environment and as part of a team, and using computerised systems for data input.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and an ability to show sensitivity and understanding when required.
- Working experience and knowledge of computerised payroll applications preferably ResourceLink.
- Hands on experience of Microsoft Office particularly Excel.
