At PizzaExpress, we know that behind every great team experience is a payroll team that gets the details right. We're looking for a Payroll Administrator to help deliver an accurate, timely and reliable payroll service for our restaurant and support centre teams.
This role is perfect for someone who loves organisation, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering a great colleague experience. You'll be a key part of our Payroll team, supporting everything from statutory leave administration to employee queries and payroll reporting.
Why this role matters
Our people rely on us to ensure they're paid accurately and on time. You'll play an important role in maintaining payroll accuracy, supporting colleagues through key life events such as maternity and paternity leave, and ensuring payroll processes run smoothly across the business.
Working closely with the wider Payroll team, restaurant managers, our People team and external partners, you'll help provide a dependable service that supports over 350 restaurants and our Restaurant Support Centre.

- Process absence reports and statutory leave records accurately and on time.
- Produce employee documentation including P60s, Statements of Earnings and employment references.
- Support weekly and periodic payroll activities, including Tips & Tronc administration.
- Run scheduled payroll reports and ensure records are maintained accurately.
Supporting our people
- Respond to colleague queries relating to sick pay, maternity pay and paternity pay.
- Issue statutory documentation, including SSP1 forms where required.
- Help maintain accurate employee records across our payroll and people systems.
- Provide a responsive and professional service through the Payroll mailbox.
Keeping payroll running smoothly
- Work closely with the wider Payroll team to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Liaise with external payroll partners, including Fourth and other providers.
- Identify discrepancies and help resolve payroll issues before they impact colleagues.
- Support continuous improvement across payroll processes and administration.
Working collaboratively
- Build strong relationships with restaurant teams, Territory Managers, HR and Finance.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate payroll processing.
- Provide support across the Payroll function during busy periods and key payroll cycles.
