Payroll Administrator - Sheffield - Accountancy Practice
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000
A well-established and growing accountancy practice in Sheffield is looking to appoint an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their friendly and supportive team.
This is a great opportunity for someone with payroll experience who enjoys building client relationships, working in a collaborative environment and taking ownership of their workload. The firm has a strong reputation locally and continues to invest in its people, systems and client service offering.
The Role
You'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of payroll clients, ensuring payrolls are processed accurately and on time while providing a high level of service throughout.

Key responsibilities include:
- Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls for a varied client portfolio
- Managing payroll submissions and RTI reporting
- Processing starters, leavers, SSP, SMP and other statutory payments
- Handling pension administration and auto-enrolment requirements
- Liaising with HMRC and pension providers where required
- Responding to client payroll queries in a timely and professional manner
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and ensuring compliance with current legislation
- Supporting the wider team with payroll-related projects and process improvements

About You
- Previous payroll experience, ideally within an accountancy practice
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience using payroll software
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident communicating with clients and colleagues
- Able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively
