Payroll Administrator

Part-time – 24hpw
Exeter, Devon
Salary - £30,000 pro-rata

Our client, a successful and established organisation, is seeking a Payroll Administrator to join their growing team on a part-time, permanent basis. This will be an office-based role.

As Payroll Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of an accurate and efficient payroll function across the business, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance, supporting payroll processes, and contributing to ongoing improvements within the finance function.

The responsibilities:

  • Support the end-to-end payroll process across multiple business areas
  • Review and process timesheets, variable pay, and payroll adjustments accurately
  • Prepare payroll reports and ensure deadlines are consistently achieved
  • Process employee changes including starters, leavers, deductions, and amendments
  • Support HMRC submissions, pension administration, and payroll compliance activities
  • Act as a key point of contact for employee payroll queries and support requests
  • Review expense claims and ensure payments are processed in line with company policy
  • Maintain accurate payroll records while ensuring confidentiality and GDPR compliance

The candidate:

  • Previous experience within payroll administration, including UK payroll processes
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, pensions, and statutory requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships at all levels
  • Organised and able to manage multiple priorities within a deadline-driven environment
