Payroll Advisor
Location: St Albans (Hybrid Working)
Salary: £32,000 - £34,000 + Benefits
Working Pattern: Hybrid – 3 Days Office / 2 Days Home
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
The Opportunity
JGA are partnering with a well-established professional services organisation seeking an experienced Payroll Advisor to join their growing payroll team.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for a portfolio of hospitality clients
- Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls accurately and on time
- Administer tronc and non-tronc arrangements, variable pay, salary sacrifice, and NMW compliance
- Manage high volumes of starters and leavers, including casual, seasonal, agency, and zero-hours workers
- Process rota and time & attendance data, resolving discrepancies efficiently
- Submit RTI filings, manage HMRC correspondence, and administer pension auto-enrolment
- Support multi-site and multi-entity payrolls with varying pay structures
- Advise clients on holiday pay, statutory payments, and Working Time Regulations
- Complete year-end activities including P60s, reconciliations, and final submissions
- Process payment files and maintain payroll records using IRIS Payroll Professional

About You
- At least 2 years' payroll experience within a bureau or client-facing payroll environment
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, including RTI, statutory payments, pensions, and Working Time Regulations
- Experience managing complex payrolls with variable pay elements
- Familiarity with rota and time & attendance systems
- Experience using IRIS Payroll Professional or similar payroll software
- Strong Excel and organisational skills
- Confident managing client relationships and working independently
- Hospitality payroll experience, tronc knowledge, or CIPP qualifications are advantageous
