Description
Moore Kingston Smith is seeking an experienced Payroll Advisor to join our specialist Payroll Services team in St. Albans, managing a dedicated portfolio of hospitality sector clients. You will take full ownership of end-to-end payroll delivery for some of our larger, more complex client accounts. Think variable pay structures, multi-site operations, and high workforce flexibility.
Experience in hospitality payroll is a real advantage, but what matters most is that you are a confident, client-facing payroll professional who can build trusted relationships with the clients you serve. You will work closely with the Payroll Supervisor and Payroll Director within a collaborative, knowledgeable team, and have the opportunity to genuinely make the role your own. If you are looking for a role where your payroll expertise is valued and your career development is taken seriously, this is it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
