About the Role & Team

We are looking for a Payroll Analyst to join our team here in London, on a 12-month Fixed-term contract! Join us in shaping the magic behind the scenes!

As a Payroll Analyst, the successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing and ensuring the accurate processing of all UK payroll-related issues, ensuring that employees receive correct remuneration on the published pay dates, thereby ensuring that the Company meets its contractual obligations. The postholder will also manage the day-to-day workload of assigned payroll in accordance with set timelines to ensure accurate delivery, whilst being responsible for internal and external stakeholder management. This would include the management of our payroll provider, to ensure smooth operations at all times.

Please note: This role will be based in our London Hammersmith office, 4 days a week, with either Monday or Friday working from home.

What You Will Do

  • Support the Payroll Manager in the effective running of the UK payroll.
  • Be an established escalation point for the Payroll Specialist’s in the UK in-house payroll team that forms part of the centralised payroll HUB for the EMEA region.
  • To be a technical point of contact for SAP issues and new requests across the UK Payroll entities.
  • Processing UK SAP payroll ensuring that employees receive accurate remuneration on the published pay dates, thereby ensuring that the Company meets its contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate with Payroll Specialist to ensure all SAP Payroll inputs are loaded prior to payroll processing.
  • To ensure that Payroll activity is properly posted into SAP GL and post payroll activities are completed in a timely manner.
  • Escalate all SAP-based queries/issues to SAP partner and raise Management Requests and complete required testing.
  • Finalise and produce BACS on all UK Monthly payrolls at Post-Exit stage.
  • Approve monthly, quarterly, annual, and other periodicity reports to the management of the Company, local authorities, and other recipients.
  • To resolve all assigned payroll-related queries from employees and legal entity stakeholders in a professional and timely manner or escalate where appropriate.
  • Perform manual calculations for part-month and back-dated payments where necessary.
  • Calculate and pay statutory payments for SMP, SSP, SPP, SAP in line with HMRC regulations and Company policy.
  • Calculate and check manual payments where appropriate ensuring that the payment is correctly accounted for.
  • Analyse variance reports providing a reason for all variances above the set material limit.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • An experienced Payroll professional, with a thorough payroll journal understanding and how it feeds into financials.
  • Strong knowledge of Payroll legislation.
  • Previous experiences of internal/external audits are desirable.
  • Proven experience from within an in-house payroll environment.
  • General understanding of Workday is desirable.
  • An ability to build solid relationships with stakeholders, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to work within a fast-paced environment, with excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • High attention to detail with good analytical and numeracy skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Part Payroll qualification preferred but not essential, with a desire to further career in payroll.
