About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Analyst to join our vibrant team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will play a vital role in managing the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 15,000 employees, utilizing outsourced payroll solutions such as iTrent and Midland HR. This role requires a proactive approach, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a professional payroll team. The Payroll Analyst will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, compliance with relevant regulations, and effective administration of employee benefits and pension schemes.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in high-volume payroll processing, preferably within a finance or administrative role. A strong understanding of payroll systems, data management, and compliance is essential. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are required to accurately interpret data and resolve discrepancies. A keen interest in finance and a proactive attitude towards learning and development will contribute to success in this role. Relevant qualifications such as a payroll certification or accounting background are advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Processing new starters and leavers, ensuring all data is accurate and compliant with company policies.
  • Validating payroll output from time and attendance systems to ensure correctness.
  • Calculating and processing pay, including supporting calculations where necessary.
  • Processing and validating manual payroll adjustments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Managing administration of pension schemes and auto-enrollment processes.
  • Reconciling various employee benefit schemes and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
  • Calculating and processing out-of-cycle payments, such as bonuses or corrections.
  • Supporting end-of-year payroll processes, including reporting and compliance activities.
  • Assisting with payroll requirements related to acquisitions, mergers, and organizational changes.
  • Maintaining detailed payroll records and ensuring data integrity across systems.
  • Collaborating with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll-related issues promptly.
