About The Role
We are excited to present an excellent opportunity for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our client’s dynamic team. This role is ideal for professionals with comprehensive UK payroll experience, particularly those who have worked within accountancy firms or payroll service providers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submissions. This position offers a chance to work within a collaborative environment, utilizing industry-leading payroll software such as Sage Payroll and Xero Payroll. The role involves building strong client relationships through professional support and advice on payroll matters, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of payroll operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in UK payroll processing, ideally within an accountancy firm or payroll bureau.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, RTI submissions, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Experience with payroll software such as Sage Payroll and Xero Payroll.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and client accounts.
- Strong communication skills, capable of providing clear advice and support to clients.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in processing payroll data.
- Understanding of GDPR regulations related to payroll data management.
- Previous experience handling pension auto-enrolment processes is desirable.
- Professional attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.

Responsibilities
- Accurately process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a diverse client portfolio, ensuring all statutory deadlines are met.
- Maintain and update payroll schedules, managing client-specific requirements and special arrangements.
- Prepare and submit RTI reports to HMRC in compliance with current regulations.
- Handle year-end payroll tasks, including issuing P60s, P45s, and P11Ds, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage pension auto-enrolment assessments and liaise with pension providers for submissions and compliance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client payroll queries, providing professional and timely support.
- Advise clients on payroll legislation changes, statutory updates, and best practices to ensure compliance.
- Maintain detailed and accurate payroll records, ensuring GDPR compliance and confidentiality.
- Process employee changes such as new starters, leavers, and data updates efficiently.
- Contribute ideas for enhancing payroll processes and systems to improve efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Stay informed about industry developments, legislative updates, and payroll best practices.
