Payroll Assistant
Payroll Assistant (Permanent) – Alderley Edge
Working for a well-established, supportive, and friendly organisation, this is a fantastic opportunity for a full-time Payroll Assistant.
About the Role
The role involves both administrative and core payroll responsibilities within a reliable and growth-focused organisation.
Key Responsibilities

** Payslips & Reports**
- Distribute and manage pay slips to employees
- Generate and submit monthly reports (e.g. employee movements, starters and leavers)

** Payroll Processing & Administration**
- Process holiday requests, sickness absence input, and manage related records
- Input new starters and leavers into the payroll system
- Handle weekly and monthly timesheet input

** Reconciliation & Compliance**
- Reconcile payrolls to ensure accuracy
- Process sickness and statutory payments (including absence management)
- Assist with yearly salary review processes
- Maintain payroll documentation, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and reports

** Additional Financial Duties**
- Generate wage reconciliations for both weekly and monthly payrolls (for the Accounts department)
- Process commissions, bonuses, overtime, and expenses for all payrolls

** Collaborative Support**
- Assist the Fleet Manager with administrative tasks
Person Specification
A confident and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant will have:
- Prior experience in payroll management (essential)
- Strong knowledge of payroll systems and procedures (e.g. payroll software, processes, and compliance)
- Up-to-date understanding of relevant UK payroll legislation and requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially while maintaining high professionalism

Job Offer
This role includes:
- Salary: Competitive: GBP 28,000 – GBP 35,000 per annum
