We're looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our expanding finance team. If you have 2–4 years' payroll experience, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in accuracy and delivering excellent service, we'd love to hear from you. You'll play a key role in processing payroll for around 750 employees across our network of 16 operational depots, supporting one of the UK's largest independently owned bus and coach operators.
What you'll be doing:
- Processing weekly and monthly payroll alongside the Payroll Manager
- Managing payroll for approximately 750 employees
- Administering pensions through NEST
- Handling payroll queries and supporting colleagues across the business
- Processing starters, leavers, pay changes, employee loans, and other payroll administration
- Helping maintain an efficient, accurate, and compliant payroll function

We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience in high-volume payroll (weekly payroll experience is desirable)
- Is organised, accurate, and confident managing multiple priorities
- Has excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Enjoys taking ownership and thrives in a growing business
- Is comfortable using Microsoft Office and payroll systems
- Experience within transport, logistics, or operational environments would be an advantage, but isn't essential.
