Your new company
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Payroll Assistant to join a friendly and supportive payroll team. This role is ideal for an organised and detail-oriented individual looking to develop a long-term career in payroll. Whether you already have some payroll experience or are eager to build your knowledge, full training and ongoing support will be provided.
Your new role
- Support the processing of monthly payroll for approximately 700 employees.
- Maintain accurate payroll and employee records, including starters and leavers.
- Ensure payroll data is accurate and up to date, including pay changes, overtime, and deductions.
- Administer statutory payments, including SSP, SMP, and SPP.
- Support pension administration and payroll compliance requirements.
- Assist with year-end payroll activities, including P60s and HMRC documentation.
- Respond to payroll queries and liaise with external organisations where required.
- Ensure compliance with Right to Work and UK payroll legislation.

What you'll need to succeed
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Discreet and professional approach when handling confidential information.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Previous payroll experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
