Payroll Assistant - UK Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill

Summary

Salary: £33,600 + estimated Service Charge of £4,000 per annum. Location: Based at Hyatt Regency London - The Churchill, near Marble Arch.

Working pattern: Monday to Friday, office hours. Hybrid working available, with up to 2 days per week from home.

We are looking for a Payroll Assistant - UK to join our UK finance function and support payroll activity across our UK Managed Hotels and offices. This role is ideal for someone who is detail-focused, organised, and confident working with sensitive information while seeking to build their payroll experience within a leading global hospitality company.

About the Role

As Payroll Assistant - UK, reporting to the Payroll Manager UK, you will support the preparation, processing, and administration of payroll for colleagues across our UK Managed Hotels and offices. You will ensure payroll information is accurate, up to date, correctly authorised, and processed in accordance with statutory requirements, company policy, and internal deadlines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensuring payroll accuracy and timeliness across UK Managed Hotels and offices
  • Reviewing and approving regular hours, overtime, starters, leavers, and status changes
  • Verifying proper authorisation and documentation for all payroll changes
  • Supporting monthly and quarterly payroll submissions, including PAYE, National Insurance, pension, and other statutory obligations
  • Ensuring correct deductions under UK legislation and company policy
  • Maintaining clean, accurate payroll records with well-organised documentation
  • Standardising payroll approaches across UK locations
  • Responding to payroll queries in a timely, professional, and confidential manner
  • Coordinating with hotel teams, finance, People/HR, and internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy
  • Improving processes and leveraging automation where possible
  • Supporting payroll and HR reporting for monthly financial processes
  • Participating in and leading project work to align UK payroll and HR strategies

Requirements

  • Highly organised, with a strong attention to detail
  • Professional approach to handling confidential information
  • Comfortable working under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and meeting deadlines
  • Confidence with numbers, systems, and Microsoft Excel
  • Previous experience in payroll, finance administration, HR administration, or a similar environment
  • UK payroll knowledge (statutory deductions, employment-related requirements) is an advantage
  • Experience with Fourth (payroll system) as a bonus
