Payroll & Benefits Manager

Growing Logistics Firm

Hertfordshire (Hybrid)
Up to £60,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus

We're partnering with a growing logistics firm based in Hertfordshire to find an experienced Payroll & Benefits Manager to lead a high-performing payroll function.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a complex payroll operation supporting around 2,000 employees across multiple payrolls, while leading an established team and playing a key role in driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end payroll function across weekly and four-weekly payrolls
  • Manage and develop an experienced payroll team through an Assistant Payroll Manager.
  • Partner closely with HR, Finance and senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Oversee the UK & Ireland employee expenses platform and support payroll-related projects
  • Drive compliance, reporting accuracy and process improvements within a stable, collaborative environment.

This role would suit someone who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with occasional hands-on involvement when needed.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience managing high-volume payrolls (ideally 1,000+ employees).
  • Proven leadership experience within a payroll function.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC compliance
  • CIPP qualification (preferred).
  • Advanced Excel skills and excellent stakeholder management abilities.
  • A stable career history and a desire to make a long-term impact.

The role is based in Hertfordshire on a hybrid schedule and paying up to £60,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus.
