About the Role
This growing and highly regarded business based in the area of Chipping Norton is seeking an experienced Payroll Coordinator to support the efficient processing of weekly and monthly payrolls for around 1,000 employees across a multi-site operation.
Reporting to a key manager and working closely alongside external payroll bureaus, the role involves coordinating both payroll cycles. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll submissions, address payroll-related enquiries, and maintain precise employee records—all while adhering to strict compliance and confidentiality policies. Additionally, you may lead payroll-related projects, initiate continuous process improvements, and support people data reporting and business intelligence (MI) analysis.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate weekly and monthly payroll submissions for a large workforce, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Liaise with managers and an external payroll bureau to resolve payroll-related issues and discrepancies.
- Maintain confidential and compliant employee records, including salary, leave, and other payroll-related data.
- Address and resolve payroll-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead payroll process improvements and contribute to efficiency gains.
- Support the development and maintenance of people data reporting and management information (MI).
- Ensure full compliance with tax, national insurance, and labour law regulations.
Essential Requirements
- Proven payroll experience, ideally with exposure to both weekly and monthly payrolls.
- Knowledge of handling different shift patterns and multiple employment types (e.g., part-time, full-time, contractors).
- Strong proficiency in Excel, including mastery of VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions and analytics capabilities.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work under fast-paced conditions.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to operate independently while maintaining strong collaboration in a team environment.
