The Role

Part of the Payroll team, providing seamless payroll support to 30,000+ colleagues across the business. Your role is essential in ensuring accurate, timely, and user-friendly payroll services—enabling our team to focus on their core responsibilities.

This Payroll Executive position demands ownership of payroll processes, collaboration, troubleshooting, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Success in this role demands a cooperative, detail-oriented mindset, prioritising our colleagues while addressing queries with clarity.

Key Responsibilities

As part of the team:

  • Accurately process assigned payrolls—aligning with internal policies and legislative requirements—while meeting critical deadlines.
  • Take full ownership of your own payroll(s), ensuring streamlined execution from start to finish, including diagnosing and resolving complex queries from colleagues.
  • Support fellow team members with ad-hoc payroll tasks, fostering a collaborative working environment.
  • Simplify payroll processes and queries for both the team and wider business—ensuring transparent, user-friendly communication.
  • Drive process improvements, proposing ways to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide payroll data and reports to internal stakeholders upon request.

Desirable Skills & Experience

Ideally, you’ll bring:

  • Dayforce payroll software experience.
  • Training expertise in teaching new skills and payroll processes to colleagues.
  • Strong expert-level Excel skills.
  • Evidence of process improvement projects in prior roles.
  • A qualification in staff payroll (CIPP or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with ROI legislative obligations.
