At Sally Europe, we're looking for a Payroll Lead to oversee the delivery of accurate, compliant and timely payroll across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to take ownership of our end-to-end payroll function, working closely with HR, Finance and our external payroll provider to ensure an exceptional payroll service for our colleagues. You'll also play a key role in driving continuous improvement, strengthening governance and developing our payroll capability.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the end-to-end payroll process for the UK and Republic of Ireland.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for payroll legislation, compliance and statutory requirements.
  • Manage the relationship with our external payroll provider, ensuring service excellence and accuracy.
  • Lead payroll governance, controls, reporting and audit readiness.
  • Oversee payroll-related benefits, pensions and employee deductions.
  • Produce payroll reporting and insights to support business decisions.
  • Drive process improvements, system enhancements and payroll projects.

About You

You'll be an experienced payroll professional with a passion for delivering an exceptional payroll service and continuously improving processes. You'll have:

  • Significant experience managing end-to-end UK payroll, with ROI payroll experience being advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, pensions and statutory payments.
  • Experience managing outsourced payroll providers.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience producing payroll reports and KPIs.
  • Experience leading or coaching team members.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using integrated payroll and HR systems.
