We're looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to take ownership of our client's UK and European payroll operations, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining full compliance with local payroll legislation. Working closely with both HR and Finance, you'll play a key role in delivering a smooth, efficient payroll process across multiple countries while providing expert guidance on payroll-related matters.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing the end-to-end monthly payroll process for UK employees and supporting payroll across multiple European countries.
  • Coordinating with external payroll providers where applicable to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery across Europe.
  • Processing payroll adjustments, including overtime, bonuses, salary amendments, and other ad hoc payments.
  • Ensuring payroll activities remain fully compliant with HMRC regulations, UK tax legislation, statutory requirements, and relevant European payroll legislation.
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records and supporting continuous improvements to payroll processes and controls.
  • Administering payroll-related employee benefits, including company vehicles, fuel cards, salary sacrifice schemes, and other country-specific benefits where applicable.
  • Partnering closely with HR to ensure all employee lifecycle changes are accurately reflected within payroll.
  • Producing payroll reports and supporting the Finance team during audits, month-end activities, and financial reporting cycles.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for payroll-related queries from employees across the UK and Europe.
  • Keeping up to date with legislative, compliance, and system changes across the UK and Europe, implementing updates where required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
