# Payroll Manager – Preston

The Role
We’re seeking a Payroll Manager who excels in nurturing exceptional talent and delivering unparalleled client service. In this role, you will:
- Lead and develop a high-performance team, manage a diverse clientele, and drive operational excellence and business growth.
- Act as a trusted payroll advisor, supporting strategic initiatives and fostering environments where people excel.
- Ensure accurate and efficient weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll processing while enhancing compliance adherence and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Operations & Compliance
- Oversee full-cycle payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Review and optimise payroll processes for efficiency, compliance, and continuous improvement.
- Leverage payroll data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for service enhancement.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Cultivate strong working relationships with clients to deliver exceptional service.
- Collaborate with intermediaries and external partners, serving as a leading payroll advisor.
- Identify strategic growth opportunities and support business development initiatives.
Team Leadership & Development
- Mentor junior team members by delegating tasks, conducting appraisals, and coaching for performance growth.
- Foster recruitment, retention, and resources allocation for seamless operations.
Strategic Initiatives
- Stay updated on payroll legislation and industry changes, providing guidance to clients and peers.
- Support broader team operations, including billing, client service delivery, and strategic insights.
Your Qualifications
- CIPP qualified or equivalent experience. --Based voyage of managing end-to-end payroll operations within a bureau or accountancy practice.
- Expertise in client portfolio management, aligning services to commercial goals.
- Hands-on experience with weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payroll, ensuring precision under tight deadlines.
- Data-driven mindset for payroll control review, risk assessment, and process improvement.
- Strong communication skills with client advisory, stakeholder management, and internal collaboration.
- Excellent delegation abilities, backed by team building and development strategies.
